The "Freedom Blade" , an innovative blade for figure skaters, has been approved by the International Skating Union. By gaining ISU’s approval, that makes the blade available to every skater.

Skate regulations for eligible skaters are lenient, but one requirement is that skates used by any one athlete must be available to all. With ISU’S approval, the "Freedom Blade" now becomes available to all skaters and is eligible during tests and competitions.

Nick Perna, a skating coach who assists Michael in training, developed the "Freedom Blade". The revolutionary blade has been developed and manufactured by John Watts Skates in Sheffield, England.
