Figure Skating champions Michael Weiss, Brian Boitano, Rudy Galindo, Randy Gardner and Timothy Goebel competed with their female counterparts Dorothy Hamill, Surya Bonaly, Nancy Kerrigan, Tai Babilonia and Nicole Bobek in "Family Feud's Champions On Ice" episodes which aired in national syndication the week of February 17th. Mike had a blast on Family Feud!

Michael Weiss could only laugh after he thought about one of his answers on "The Family Feud" that was televised February 17-21. The question was how much would you pay for a dozen roses? Michael’s answer - $6.99.

It was the wrong answer during the round of "Fast Money" played among the winning team. And Michael laughs when he reflects on his answer. "The questions come so fast I didn’t want to lose any time so I said the first thing that came to my mind," Michael said. "I really was thinking about the roses they sell on the side of the road. I wanted to say $9.99 and was worried I guessed wrong."

Michael teamed with Brian Boitano in the "Fast Money" round after defeating the women in the principle round. He was in the "Fast Money round twice.

Michael said appearing with Champions On Ice cast members was one of most fun times he’s had.

Michael was on the end among the men’s contestants. The idea was to put one of the best players at the end. "We kind of voted where everyone would be." Michael said that made it harder when he was called upon to answer questions. "Usually there are two or three obvious answers to the questions. But when it gets down to the last couple they are the most obscure," Michael said.

"It was a blast," Michael said. "We had a good time and it was a completely different setting than we’ve been used to. The guys did well together."

The men beat the women in all but one episode.

When Michael was asked to appear on the men’s team, he didn’t know five episodes would be taped in one day.

"We started at 10 a.m. and after each episode we had about a half hour break with lunch in the middle of the day. We finished up about 7-8 p.m."

Michael only brought two changes of clothes for the taping. "If I would have known we were going to do five episodes, I would have brought more clothes. As it turned out I had two changes."

Between episodes Michael said the men and women cast members were mostly teasing and making fun of each other’s answers.

The game show gave the skaters a rare chance to be viewed outside of an ice facility where they spend most of their time training, competing and performing with Champions On Ice.

"We heard some pretty good things and it was different and a great promotion for Champions On Ice," Michael said. "I think it helped promote skating in a good, different way."
