Michael
has an interest in finishing work (trim/molding) and he came
by it natually.
His
grandfather, Richard Weiss, came to the United States from
Germany in 1940. Richard Weiss was from Ridgefield, N.J.,
and was a machinist. He was very good with his hands and would
sculpt metal on the side. Mike attributes his desire to work
with his hands to his grandfather.
Peter
Salerno designed and built Michael's kitchen. After Michael
expressed an interest in finish work and the desire to install
trim/molding in his own home, Salerno asked him if he would
be interested in helping install trim in a 30,000-square-foot
home in New Jersey.
Michael
agreed and went to New Jersey in August to help with the job.
